After returning from Amboise, we had another “free day” and walked around 10 miles to build up an appetite for our dinner at Monsieur Bleu. It’s located within the Palais de Tokyo, just across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower. The trees were full of leaves so you could only see it if you squinted.
Monsieur Bleu
Again, American Concierge set up our reservation at Monsieur Bleu. It was a little tricky to find, but we had the funniest uber driver! Once we found it, I didn’t let the nasty bee sting stop me from enjoying our wine!
We started with an artichoke and octopus salad. Both were very tasty and the perfect size. So good it made me forget that a mouse (we called him ratatouille) that popped his head out of the bushes behind us.
On one of I’ll Have What Phil’s Having episodes he eats some mouth watering chicken in France. Then, we saw some of this chicken at the Amboise Farmer’s Market. So that made our entree decision easy. The best part- they present it and then cut it up for you! It was the juiciest, most flavorful chicken I’ve ever had! We barely touched the fries, because…
We had to order dessert! I convinced Nolan to deviate from his creme brûlée and to try toe Napoleon dessert. It did not disappoint!
Trocadéro
After dinner we took the metro to Trocadéro to get a better view of the Eiffel Tower. I liked this view compared to our first night in Paris. It’s hard to get a picture without asking someone, but we managed. It was a beautiful night, but I did’t feel like waiting around hundreds of other tourists to see it lit up.
