This picture of Pesto Pea Pizza from What’s Gaby Cooking popped up in my Instagram feed and I was like, “GET IN MY MOUTH”. Of course, I made a few alterations based on preference and limited time. See how it turned out…
Time-Saving Ingredients
If I had more time I would have gone to Trader Joe’s for their fresh pizza dough, like I used for the nectarine pizza. This was a Target grocery trip though, so I opted for the pre-made Archer Farms fire roasted pizza crust. I also skipped the ricotta.
Assembly
Thanks to all the pre-made ingredients it took about 2 minutes to put together. It was a little weird putting frozen peas on a pizza; can you find the 🙂 ? Immediately after I put it in the oven the smell of garlic filled the kitchen.
20-Minute Bake Time
The mozzarella melted all over, but the crust stayed pretty crispy, all things considered. Fresh mozzarella is SO much better than bagged, pre-shredded mozzarella.
After one bite I knew there was something missing… red pepper flakes!
Considering I used pre-made crust, frozen peas and canned pesto, it turned out pretty darn good! It took less than 5 minutes to assemble and 20 minutes to bake.
