We were back in-person for the 2021 Flying Pig Half Marathon! I was a little nervous, but mostly excited to race the Pig again. I’ve only done the full, so I knew what the first 6 miles entailed. Hint: lots of bridges and hills.
2019 Michigan Ragnar
The 2019 Michigan Ragnar started in Muskegon and finished in Traverse City on beautiful Lake Michigan. I knew it was going to include some running and lots of laughter, but nothing could have prepared me for the actual experience with this group of goof balls.
2019 Hudy 14K Race Recap
This past weekend was the 2019 Hudy 14K race downtown Cincinnati. Compared to last year’s race, this run was hot and humid! So it’s no surprise my pace was slower, but I was still happy with a 1:32 finish with a pace of 10:37. Plus, what better excuse to wear my beer socks and pose…
Valentine’s Hearts “R” Running 5k Race Recap
On Sunday Nolan and I ran the Valentine’s Hearts “R” Running 5k! It was Nolan’s first 5k in over 8 years and he did great! I’m so proud of him for sticking with the couch-to-5k training and showing up even when the weather was calling for a wintery mix at race start.

2018 Thanksgiving Day 10K: A New 10K PR!
I ran my first Thanksgiving Day 10K and set a new 10K PR! The weather was cool, the route was challenging and I felt strong.
2018 Indianapolis Monumental Marathon
The 2018 Indianapolis Monumental Marathon was last weekend. After 18 weeks of training, including a few half marathons, and the very anxious week before, it’s all over. It’s a weird feeling- I feel so accomplished but also sort of sad that it’s over.
Currently: October 2018
September and October 2018 flew by! So much so that I totally missed posting a September currently! I think that’s the first month I’ve missed since my inaugural currently post in January 2016. PS I still use those bike shoes and I never made either of those recipes again. Anyway, back to October 2018…
26 Things I’m Going to Do After the Marathon
After 18 weeks of marathon training, I’ve got a list of 26 things I’m going to do after the marathon!
