Since basically all in-person races in 2020 have been cancelled, I’ve resolved to a bunch of fall virtual races. It’s good to have something to work toward, other than post-run donuts! Although they were definitely a motivating factor last weekend.
Medtronic TC Virtual 1-Mile
I ran the Medtronic TC 1-mile back in 2011 in downtown Minneapolis in 8:28. I was signed up in future years, but they had to cancel because of heat advisories in the Twin Cities. This year I’ll be doing it on the bike path and shooting for 8:30. (insert nervous face emoji)
Minnesota Vikings Virtual 5K
You know we love our Minnesota Vikings, so signing up for their 5K was a no brainer. With sweet swag and proceeds going to local organizations, I didn’t hesitate to sign Nolan and me up for this fall virtual race. This one has to be run between September 1st and 13th.
Queen Bee Virtual Half Marathon (Plus the Stinger & Snout Challenge)
This will be my third Queen Bee half marathon. I had a great race in 2018 and then a not-so-good race in 2019. Both races had a great after party, so I’ll miss that this year. But new is the Snout & Stinger Challenge! It’s basically for anyone that participates in the Pig and Queen Bee races. Snout and stinger… get it? 😛
Run The Bluegrass Virtual Half Marathon
Last of my fall virtual races is Run the Bluegrass in Lexington, KY. It appears that it is still on, but I’ve opted for the virtual option. I can’t imagine that they still have it. Plus, all the people I registered with have opted to do it virtually.
