Have you heard of Blue Apron? It’s a food service that delivers fresh pre-measured ingredients and recipes to your doorstep. When I first heard of them they didn’t deliver to our area, but recently they added us! No meal planning, no fighting the crowds while balancing my Starbucks at Target on Sunday, and no having to eat the same thing 4 days in a row (they have a 2-person plan)… count me in! Plus I received a first-timer discount via this post.

Our first meal was Mexican Spiced Salmon. Each meal came with a detailed recipe “card” with all the details and cooking instructions on the back. IMG_1002

Nolan did 99% of the cooking and said it was pretty easy.

The recipe said it makes two servings, but we found that it was more than enough for the two of us. And in fact, the black rice salad made for a great pre-run breakfast.

Our second meal was Seared Chicken and Mashed Potatoes. I would have liked more carrots and less mashed potatoes, but the chicken and sauce were spot on.

And our last meal was Lebanese Lamb & Beef Arayes. I love the smell of onions cooking.

The pitas over-flow-a.

Unlike Blue Apron’s picture, mine turned out really crispy, which I prefer anyway. Or maybe I just overcooked it…

A little spritz of lemon, the labneh cheese and a bit of parsley later…

I liked all the recipes, but my favorite was the salmon. I’m a sucker for avocados. We never finished all the meals, probably because our kitchen isn’t cluttered. I will definitely order from them again.
