I listened to Little Princes by Conor Grennan and loved it! Not only is it a touching true story, but it’s read by Conor himself. There are several good audiobook narrators (I loved My Korean Deli). But,. there is just something special about a true story, read by the author. For instance, the story of teaching the children how to say his name. He mimics their accents and how they enthusiastically growled/yelled his name to say it right. 🙂
Little Prince: Amazon Description
Little Princes is the epic story of Conor Grennan’s battle to save the lost children of Nepal and how he found himself in the process. Part Three Cups of Tea, part Into Thin Air, Grennan’s remarkable memoir is at once gripping and inspirational, and it carries us deep into an exotic world that most readers know little about.
My Review
If you couldn’t pick up on this already, I really enjoyed this book. Grennan’s descriptions of the kids, the culture, and the treacherous treks through the mountains are gripping. Walking through Cincinnati I was transported to Nepal. I found myself smiling and nearly crying at the heartbreaking stories of the orphans. Highly recommend this book, especially the audiobook version.
