I recently finished Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. I started the audiobook on our way to Paris, which kept me from sleeping on the plane! But, I wasn’t able to finish the audiobook before it was due. So, I waited several weeks in a huge queue with the library to get the hardcover.
Where the Crawdads Sing: Amazon Description
My Review
After finishing The Good Immigrant, I was able to quickly pick up from where I left off in Where the Crawdads Sing. It’s understandably different listening to an audiobook verses reading the text. In this case I actually preferred the audiobook, unlike The Bright Hour. I loved the main character, Kya, and her story. It’s a little unrealistic at times; only going to school once, never getting sick, the courtroom scenes, just to name a few. But, if you’re able to let some of those fabricated bits you can enjoy Kya’s perseverance, ingenuity, and #girlpower. I’m not surprised it’s a New York Times Bestseller, on Reece’s Book Club list, and has 5/5 stars on Amazon.
