Hola Arepa is a food-truck-turned-restaurant located in South Minneapolis. Nolan and I went there right after work on Friday to score some of their happy hour specials. Nolan ordered a Surly Fiery Hell and I had a ‘We Surfed Here’, made with rum, grapefruit juice and habanero bitters, amongst other things.

The record high temperature of 92 degrees made it taste even better! The patio and outdoor bar was full of people enjoying the first nice day of summer, unlike the bare picture below that I grabbed off their web site.

The chips and salsa come with your choice of three salsas, we ordered the Hola Sauce, Tomatillo, and Aji Verde. My favorite was the Hola Sauce.

For dinner we went with the bartender’s recommendations of the the Shredded Beef & Plantain and the Cuban Ham & Pork arepa. After a few bites Nolan said “Best Cuban yet.”Hola entreesThey are served with yummy yuan fries with aioli verde and chimichurri dipping sauces, which was more than enough for the two of us.
