2023 Cooper River Bridge Run

The 2023 Cooper River Bridge Run was windy and hot but oh so fun! The 10K goes over the Ravenel bridge and finishes in downtown Charleston. After training for 3 months, I felt prepared but still nervous.

2023 Charleston Half Marathon

The 2023 Charleston Half Marathon was on Saturday, January 14th. My Cincinnati friends Adrienne, Jen and Amy came down to run it too. And they brought the cold with them! The 2022 Charleston Half was cancelled, so I had a deferral entry to the 2023 race. Back in 2022 we were just visiting Charleston and…

2022 Charleston Reindeer Run

The 2022 Charleston Reindeer Run was held downtown Charleston on Saturday, December 10th. Starting and finishing at Charleston Place Hotel, within perfect walking distance of our apartment. The race was short, fun and festive! There were lots of kids, costumes, strollers and dogs. It was cute seeing families racing (or walking) together to celebrate the…

Palazzo Vecchio + Boboli Gardens

Our last guided tour in Italy was the Palazzo Vecchio and the Boboli Gardens. It was a great touring day but also sad knowing that we were leaving the following day. The entire trip we had wonderful weather, excellent food and great tour guides.

Uffizi Gallery

The Uffizi Gallery is home The Birth of Venus, Primavera, Santa Trinita Maestà and so many other great painting. It’s another must-see art museum if you visit Florence!

Santa Maria Novella Church + Palazzo Pitti

Two more must-see things in Florence are the Santa Maria Novella Church and Palazzo Pitti. We were suppose to see the Palazzo Vecchio with Santa Maria Nouvella, but something came up so we swapped Palazzo Pitti and Palazzo Vecchio. They are both close and it was nice to have a little fresh air and walk…

Accademia Gallery + Wine Tasting at Il Borro

Probably the most well-known piece of art in Florence is The David by Michelangelo, housed at the Accademia Gallery. Rightfully so, the marble sculpture stands at 17 feet tall! We spent a long time discussing his posture, he facial expressions, the marble block and the other objects in the sculpture. (If marble could talk, right?)

Bargello National Museum + Opera del Duomo Museum

Our third Italy tour was of the Bargello National Museum and Opera del Duomo Museum. I could have spent 3x as much time in each museum learning more about each piece of art. The more we toured museums and learned about the Renaissance, the Medici Family and the role of the Church, the more things…
