I love summer. I love burning my butt on my black leather car seats, I love feeling wet as soon as I step outside, and I love the long days of sunlight. I could live in Florida, year around. But I don’t. So I’m going to try to focus on the positives of summer ending and the realization that winter is just around the corner.

  1. No more need to smear white sticky sunscreen all over. When we were in Vegas a lady came up to me when I was floating on a raft in the pool and said “You’re either a runner or a biker; I can tell by your tan line.” I guess I didn’t do a very good job shmearing this year.
  2. Pumpkin Spice everything will start to make an appearance. I make the best little pumpkin white chocolate chip cookies. I even bought this t-shirt last year- which is on sale for $8.99 right now!!
  3. Boots. I have started to curate a short-boot collection after tall boots started to go by the wayside. PS I always thought that phrase was gone by the “waste side”; learn something new everyday.
  4. Scarves. Last year I got into the blanket scarves. Wrap one of those suckers around your neck and you’ll be sweating in no time.

Let’s be honest though, applying sunscreen isn’t so bad, I could make my pumpkin cookies anytime of the year, putting on socks after giving your toes 4 months of freedom make my feet feel claustrophobic, and I wear a scarf (at the office) and a blanket (at home) all summer long so there is really no benefits of summer coming to an end. #sorry There is always next year.
