I just finished five books relatively quickly. One of them, The Last Flight, was one of my favorites so far this year!

The Perfect Marriage by Geneva Rose {audiobook}

I’ve been into thrillers lately and this one did not disappoint! To sum it up it’s about a husband who is accused of killing his mistress. His wife is the leading defense attorney and takes on his case. I tried not to “figure it out” near the end, but even then I was fooled by who done it. Would be a great beach read.

Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson {audiobook}

This book was touching and hilarious. Imagine being suddenly responsible for two children who randomly start on fire?! Very cute and entertaining.

Less by Andrew Sean Greer

I grabbed Less haphazardly from the shelf at the library. It’s about an author who takes worldwide trip to escape the fact that the his ex-boyfriend is getting married. (Randomly this is the second book that I’ve read that has a writer as the main character. So did Verity.) Anyway, it’s cute, but kinda sad too. Would probably make a funny tv series.

The Last Flight by Julia Clark

The Last Flight is the second thriller I recently finished. One my favorite books in 2021 so far. I stayed up way past my bedtime several times reading this one. In short, it’s about two women who change identities at the airport to escape their lives. One was a drug dealer and one was married to an abusive politician. The chapters alternate between the two women with cliff hangers at the end of each.

Dare to Lead by Brené Brown {audiobook}

I listened to Dare to Lead by Brené Brown over the past couple of weeks. As with most leadership/motivational books, some parts resonated more than others. I liked that Brown narrated the book herself and gave real life examples. Similar to Rachel Hollis’ books though, some parts come off as sort of braggy. Unlike Rachel Hollis, the masses love Brown though and I would not be opposed to listening to one of her podcasts in the future.

PS: In contrast to Dare to Lead, I’m currently reading Rude: Stop Being Nice and Start Being Bold by Rebecca Reid and loving it!

  1. The little kids on fire one looks cute. I don’t like my current book. Might have to jump ship. Love the contrast you have going on in the last paragraph.
