I’m sharing four recommended audiobooks that I’ve recently listened to and enjoyed. Some are from my 2018 book list, but some are just ones that popped up in my recommended list. All were read listens and would recommend depending on your mood.

Educated: A Memoir by Tara Westover

Between waiting for other audiobooks in my queue, Educated popped up as an available title. Wow, just wow. Tara’s memoir was eye-opening about an upbringing that is far from the norm and certainly different than my own. This was a great audiobook but would also be just as intriguing to read- similar to Hillbilly Elegy.

We Were Strangers Once by Betsy Carter

We Were Strangers Once was on my 2018 book list, so when I saw it was available as an audiobook I immediately dropped it in my queue. For an audiobook it seemed like the plot took a long time to establish. That said, once it was established I couldn’t wait to go for a walk or jump in the car to see what happens next- reminded me of Rebecca.

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

I mentioned Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine in my July 2018 currently post. It was a little sad in a few areas, it was mostly funny and amusing. It reminded me a bit of Where’d You Go Bernadette, which I loved!

The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian

Another one that popped up in my recommended list was The Flight Attendant. Similar to The Girl on the Train, this thriller features a female alcoholic that finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was a great listen and if you like books like Gone Girl or The Girl in Cabin 10, you’d love The Flight Attendant.

Recommended Audiobooks

While I recommend audiobooks, I will always prefer reading books. But I think I’d look a little strange walking Sophie and reading a book at the same time. 😉
