I finally finished the scrapbook on our California trip from two years ago! Like usual, immediately after the trip I was gung-ho about scrapbooking it up. I seem to lose creativity juice when it comes to the end of a scrapbook. It sat in a pile (see it here) for way too long, until last weekend.
The first half of the trip was in San Francisco and then we headed to Sonoma to meet up with Nolan’s coworkers for a few wine tours and to cheer for the Chip Ganassi Racing team. We were only gone a week and I thought I could squeeze it all into an 8″x8″ book, but I underestimated the number of photos I took.
I also didn’t realize that the holes in the pages aren’t universal. How dumb is that? For about half of the pages I had to use a hole bunch to get them to line up. The page below is from our lunch at Robert Mondavi Winery.
Some of my other favorite pages include this one from our first day, when we visited the Buena Vista for Irish coffees.
Another favorite was dinner at Frances, they change the menu daily, so I didn’t feel bad swiping one.
Then there was Bouchon Bakery in Yountville.
One of our favorite wine tasting was at Duckhorn.
Not my favorite page in the book, but definitely the most memorial part of the trip was waking up to an earthquake. I kept some of the newspaper clippings from that day and snapped a few photos of the cracked roadway and the spilled drink in our hotel room.
Despite the earthquake that morning, the Sonoma Raceway wasn’t damaged and the race went on as scheduled.

2 years is pretty good considering it took me 4 1/2 years to finish our 2009 Alaska scrapbook and I’m still not done with our 2013 Alaska trip…
