I recently finished Better: A Surgeon’s Notes on Performance by Atul Gawande, a book about medical failures and successes. Spoiler: You’d don’t have to be a surgeon or even in the healthcare industry to enjoy this well-written book.
BR: Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier
Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier is a wonderful suspense book with just enough splash of romance to make things interesting. (No, Sophie did not try to eat the cover.)
4 Good Audiobooks
Four good audiobooks, in no particular order…
BR: The Bright Hour by Nina Riggs Audiobook
I recently listened to the audio book of The Bright Hour: A Memoir of Living and Dying. What’s with me and all these dark books and tv shows?
The Handmaid’s Tale
Are you watching The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu?
BR: I Can’t Make This Up by Kevin Hart
Another book from my 2018 book list, I Can’t Make This Up by Kevin Hart, was a hilarious book full of Kevin’s life lessons.
BR: Give a Girl a Knife: A Memoir by Amy Thielen
Another book from my 2018 book list, Give a Girl a Knife is the second memoir I’ve read. Spoiler: I’m kind of digging memoirs!
BR: The Golden House by Salman Rushdie Audiobook
I’ve really started to get into audiobooks as a way to distract me on my runs. They are longer than podcasts and help me knock off books from my 2018 list. The latest one I listened to on my wireless headphones is The Golden House by Salman Rushdie.
Nashville Marathon Training Weeks 13-15 + Running Blisters
Prepare yourself for a long recap of the last three weeks of my Nashville Marathon Training and running blisters. Lucky for you though, I’m not sharing any actual pictures of my running blisters.
BR: Sisters First by Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Pierce Bush
Sisters First by Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Pierce Bush, from my 2018 book list, is a super cute (and short) book that reminded me of how lucky I am to have an awesome sister. 🙂
