Looking at my 2019 book recap, I feel I did a pretty good job getting through my 2019 book list! Between reading books and listening to audiobooks I made through a lot!

The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn
A thrilling read, not knowing what was paranoia and what was real.

Little Princes By Conor Brennan
A true story of a man making a difference in the lives of lost children in Nepal.

The Water Cure by Sophie Mackintosh
A sinister “read” of a cult-like family that uses a water “exercise” to “cure” sins.

Becoming by Michelle Obama
A wonderful memoir from the previous first lady.

Behind Closed Doors by B. A. Paris
A thrilling story about how different things can be behind closed doors.

My Family and Other Animals by Gerald Durrell
An amusing true story about Gerald and his eccentric family.

Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty
A funny story of nine strangers trying to change their lives by spending a week at a health spa.

One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus
A young adult mystery around a murder that I figured out half way in.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
A powerful and moving novel about police brutality and systematic racism.

You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me by Sherman Alexie
A biography that is a bit depressing, but wonderfully written.

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
A novel full of plot lines including motherhood, teen relationships, and suburbia.

Here We Are Now by Jasmine Warga
A cute young adult book about a young girl who was being raised by her mom. Then, she discovers her dad is a rock star, literally!

This One is Mine by Maria Semple
I liked how this one ended; everything was resolved, no unanswered questions.

Audiobooks for Long Car Rides
Including a marketing book, a Christian Theology book, a sci-fi novel and a historical novel.

Charlotte Walsh Likes to Win
I don’t like talking politics, but I liked reading this novel about politics.

The Good Immigrant book with red wine

The Good Immigrant
A wonderful collection of essays from first- and second-generation immigrants.

Where the Crawdads Sing
A cute, coming of age novel that’s on all the 2019 best seller lists.

The Lost Girls of Paris book review

The Lost Girls of Paris
A very riveting story of the British female radio operators working in Occupied Europe during World War II.

Empress Josephine
A very old book detailing the life of Empress Josephine that I discovered in Paris and read upon returning home.

Trust Exercise
A uniquely written piece of fiction that won the 2019 National Book Award that I couldn’t finish.
