Before feasting, Nolan and I ran the 2019 Life Time Turkey Day 5K at the Deerfield, OH Life Time Fitness. The weather was great for running, the route was good, and Nolan got a 5K PR!
The Race
We ran the majority of the race with Melanie, a fellow Marshall Marathoner. The route was a giant square- I was so happy it wasn’t an out-and-back! There were a few tiny hills, but nothing crazy. We only stopped once for a few moments at the water stop. That’s when Nolan realized how fast we were going and quickly started running again.
Our time was 33:33, which was faster than our 33:53 time at the Mariemont 5K this summer. He is training for a 5K in the middle of December and I have no doubt he’ll get even faster by then! Especially if we don’t stop at the water stop. 🙂
The Medal
I have to say, for a 5K, they give give you a pretty nice medal! Looks like I’m going to need a new medal holder. The shirts on the other hand… I ordered a small and it’s more like a large. Just in time for all those extra holiday pounds.
