I first typed February 2018, but then remember it’s 2019! Woof, how time does fly when you’re having fun!? And by fun I mean a month full of rain, rain and more rain. Seriously, we got almost 7 inches of rain in February. I never thought I’d say this, but I wished it had been snow. Snow is prettier, less wet and doesn’t cause landslides, usually.
Hamilton
As a combo Christmas/Anniversary present I purchased tickets to Hamilton. Other than Grease, I’m not one to seek out a musical. There was so much hype behind Hamilton though and I knew Nolan would love to see it. I have to say, I love it too!
Flying Pig Training
Flying Pig Marathon training has been going well, including the day above when it wasn’t raining! I haven’t had any blister or knee issues, so I’m cautiously optimistic about my goals. We’re ramping up in mileage, so keep your fingers crossed things continue to go well, I stay healthy and uninjured.
House Projects
Our main bathroom shower was leaking, so Nolan spent a good portion of the weekend re-grouting it. Not a glamorous project. I actually could barely notice it was redone, which is actually good that he matched the grout color pretty well.
Also, remember when we had all that water in the crawl space? Well, little did we know, it caused mold to start to grow on the joists. So this past week we’ve had mold people working on cleaning that up. 🙁 The good news is that the mold was no-toxic and hadn’t spread too much. But still, not how I want to spend several grand.
BBQ Chicken Nachos
On a more positive note, Nolan made these BBQ Chicken Nachos on our Rec Tec. They hit the spot after a long Tuesday run. They had the perfect cheese-to-chip ratio. And of course I gave them a healthy sprinkle of fresh cilantro. I’m looking forward to the summer when we can grill more often!
