We’re Moving to Cincinnati!

We’re moving to Cincinnati! I never thought I’d be typing those words! Let me explain how we came to the decision and what I’m going to be doing…

Both Nolan and I were born-and-raised in Minnesota but love traveling. We both studied abroad in college and have always been open to moving for the right opportunity. Talking about it and actually doing it are two different things though. All of our family and friends are in Minnesota and as much as we like to complain about the weather, we do know how great it is to live in Minnesota.

Buuuuutttt, at the same time this was a great opportunity for Nolan and an exciting adventure for both of us.

The Location

Don’t feel bad if you didn’t immediately know where it was on a map, neither did we. You actually fly into Kentucky and cross the Ohio River to get to Cincinnati. When the opportunity came up neither of us had been there!

The Opportunity

Milliennials are said to be job hoppers (and proud of it). This is technically a new job for Nolan, but within the same company. So, I’m not really sure the stereotype applies in this situation. He really likes the company, knows the people and is really excited about the new role.

The Houses

As you know, we had already decided to move, so we were already on the fix-it-up-to-sell-it track. Having a more firm timeline really stepped up our schedule though, thus all the recent projects. As I write this we have a pending offer on a house in Cincinnati. We really hope it’ll work out because we’re running out of time!

My Plans

The million dollar question… what am I going to do after moving to Cincinnati? Luckily, my company is going to allow me to work remotely! One of my concerns about moving was having to find another job and I’m thrilled that I don’t have to do that. It’ll also be nice to have once constant in my life while everything else is changing.
