Remember that time I wanted to remove the wallpaper downstairs and the infamous phrase “While we’re at it” turned it into a complete basement remodel with heated tile floors and a bar with a beer tap? Or last year when I decided to paint the bathroom, when my company had its holiday shut down, which turned into painted floors, new counter top and finally a new knob last month?

Well, it’s happening again. My company is shutting down again for a week and a half and we’re going to install new doors. We ordered 6 new doors, a boat-load of hinges (PSA hinges on Amazon are the best deal) and these knobs. All the upstairs doors are getting replaced- main bathroom, office, hall closet, front bedroom, master bedroom and master bathroom. “While we’re at it”, let’s get that board and batten up too.

In preparation for the new doors we wanted to get all the trim and frames painted white. While I was baking cookies last Saturday, Nolan removed the baseboard and doors (talk about no privacy!), caulked around all the trim, primed the trim and painted the hallway ceiling. What a guy! The next day we tag-teamed and finished the trim with three coats of white paint. IMG_3521

Let’s just hope that this “Oh, I have a week and a half off of work” project doesn’t take all year, like my painted bathroom did. 🙂
